Wicklow Male Voice Choir was founded in 1998 and, as part of its 20th Anniversary celebrations the Choir, sang at the 11.30am Mass in St. Patrick’s Church on the Sunday of the Regatta Bank Holiday weekend. Our great church choir was on holidays and so Fr Donal Roche, Parish Administrator, was only too happy to welcome Wicklow Male Voice Choir under the expert direction of internationally renowned tenor Anthony Norton. Among the songs performed on the day were ‘How Great Thou Art’, ‘Ag Críost an Síol’, ‘The Lord Bless You and Keep You’ and ‘The Lost Chord’. The recital was very well received by regular Wicklow mass goers and visitors alike who packed the church. The Choir was very lucky on the day to have had the services of acclaimed organist/pianist Rónán Murray to provide an expert accompaniment. The Choir also sang in St Patrick’s earlier on this year to remember deceased members of the Choir. Thanks to Fr Donal and Teresa Kelly for all their support.
